www.tagzania.com is an application that helps you save your places, wherever on the Earth they may be located.
Created in 2005 by CodeSyntax, the application appeared to be a pioneer in geo-location. Over the past several years however similar projects including Geolocation services and maps have shown exceptional growth rates thus drawing enormous user attention and at the same time arousing competition among themselves.
Tagzania has demonstrated a great user commitment by achieving a “mapping” breakthrough in localizing the application into eight languages. Thus a user friendlier interface combined with the general simplicity and intuitiveness of tagzania.com have attributed to the project’s success and high registration and visitor rates.
Our part of this global project included the site’s localization from English into German and Russian. The whole process of localization has taken two days including the website testing after the translated version had been uploaded online.
The files for translation were in .po format, so that localization became a matter of uploading another language version to the website. The localization into all languages was carried out simultaneously, so the website became “global” in a couple of days. Effective communication between the manager and the provider has contributed to efficient project realization.
